Ferenc Horvath debuts on the manager's bench with confident win

Videoton secured a good 3-0 home league win over Honved on Saturday.

Saturday's league match kicked off in nice conditions after several days of rain in Szekesfehervar. Former Vidi legend Zoltan Csucsanszky was presented with a gift on his 50th birthday.

The match started well with a cross after 2 minutes from Stopira being cleared by a defender ahead of the waiting Feczesin. Gyurco curled a good ball in to the box after 10 minutes, which was met by Simon, but his header failed to hit the target. Nego then went down the right wing before crossing a lovely ball to Gyurcso, who controlled the ball and aimed for the top right corner, but the ball ended up just wide of the post. There was 17 minutes on the clock when a corner by Gyurcso was headed over the bar by defender Vinicius.

Stopira was forced to come off with an injury 5 minutes later and Szolnoli replaced the left back. There were chances at both ends in the 34th minute. Honved put the ball in the net but it was ruled offside. The quick counter attack from the home side ended with Gyurcso curling the ball in front of goal for Feczesin to flick the ball beyond the Honved keeper (1-0).

New Vidi manager Ferenc Horvath, who was making his debut on the bench was in celeration mood following Feczesin's goal. It brought back memories to the supporters of times gone by when Horvath scored similar goals in the 90's and 2000. The final minute of the first half saw Szolnoki cross the ball in to the path of Gyurcso, having taken a deflection off a defender, and the winger made no mistake from 16 meters with a clever shot into the bottom left corner! (2-0).

The second half started with Suljic battling to win a free kick, which was around 17 meters from the goal. Gyurcso stood behind the ball, but his effort did not create too many problems for keeper Kemenes. The hour mark resulted in several players picking up cautions. Youla, Szolnoki and Danilovics all ended up with yellow cards. The action contiunued with a cross from Suljic being volleyed at goal by Feczesin, which produced a smart stop from Kemenes. The resulting corner from Gyurcso saw Juhasz rise the highest to head home via the post the third Vidi goal (3-0).

The ball sailed over the bar after Gyurcso again found the ball at his feet two minutes later. Oliveira then did well to play in Gyucso on 69 minutes, who shot wide when well positioned. There were 10 minutes left when Kemenes did very well to save from a Nego effort from 15 meters out. Danilovics then saved a long distance effort on 88 minutes to keep a clean sheet. That proved the final action in a comfortable 3-0 home win for Videoton. Vidi sit in 7th place in the OTP league table.
