Our team played its first summer training match, and in the second half against Dunaszerdahely many of our young players got a chance to play.
Our team played their first training match of the summer pre-season period on Saturday, which started last Monday, against FC DAC 1904, who finished last season in the Slovakian league in second place. Kenan Kodro, Deybi Flores, Nikola Serafimov and Tobias Christensen were not yet available due to their national team appearances, Attila Fiola and Levente Szabó are rehabilitating after surgery, Szilveszter Hangya is currently doing some catch-up training, while Palkó Dárdai missed some training due to illness and therefore did not play today. Head coach Bartosz Grzelak sent out the starting eleven of Kovács - Csongvai, Larsen, Spandler, Zeke - Pinto, Bambock - Kastrati, Houri, Schön - Katona, and our substitutes were all very young outfield players.
The first big chance of the match came in the 2nd minute, when Miroslav Kacer shot wide from 11 meters. In reply, Houri's corner was headed over by Spandler from 8 metres in the 6th minute. Zsolt Kalmár then had two chances, but first his shot bounced off Csongvai, then after a loose ball he shot close range at Kovács. In the 17th minute, Bambock gave the ball away in the back, which was passed to Kalmár, his shot was bravely saved by Kovács, but Kacer pounced on the rebound and made no mistake from close range (0-1). In the 25th minute, Pinto shot wide from 5 meters, in the 33rd minute Kristovic's shot was missed, in the 35th minute Csongvai's shot was bravely saved by the DAC goalkeeper. Then in the 41st minute, a counter-attack resulted in Kalmár's 16-metre shot into the far post (0-2), giving the visitors a two-goal lead at the break.
At the break, the home team substituted eight players, the visitors four, and from then on a much younger team, mainly from the NB III side and the junior leagues, got the chance. Rockov - Kiss M., Larsen, Spandler, Bedics - Kovács, Houri - Menyhárt, Ambach, Pető - Tóth T. V. started the second half of the game. Unfortunately, after half a minute the Danube side scored, Ramadan's shot bounced off Larsen and into our goal (0-3). In the 60th minute he again showed his skill, this time he crossed in from the left and shot into the far side of the goal from 16 meters (0-4). After that, there were three more substitutions on both sides, and soon after Pető's free kick bounced into the corner. In the 70th minute, Záhradník headed a left-wing cross onto the post, but Rockov fouled him and a penalty was awarded after he fell to the floor - Ramadan aimed for the bottom left but the goalkeeper cleared the ball. In the 79th minute, Trusa beat Husvéth in the run-in and calmly scored. Entering the last ten minutes, Máté Kecskés had a chance to make things right, but our youngster shot over from 13 metres. The last big chance of the match came to Risvanis, who came clear on a left-wing cross but shot over from close range.
The match ended with a five-goal victory for DAC, and our team will play their next training match next Saturday at 16:30 against Osijek in Muraszentmárton, Croatia.
