Three players made their debut for Vidi today. Kemenes made a good start in goal, but even that wasn't enough to pick up points.
On Sunday afternoon, our team played a historic match away in Karcag, as we had never faced the team from eastern Hungary before.
Two hours before kick-off, heavy rain fell on the Karcag pitch, but by the time the match started, the rain had stopped and the pitch was in perfect condition. Head coach Gábor Boér named the following eleven players in the starting line-up: Nagy - Kovács K., Murka, Spandler, Horváth T. - Kocsis G., Bedi, Ominger, Varga - Tóth M., Bertók. However, our goalkeeper was injured during the warm-up, so Kemenes started for Videoton, with young Svékus taking his place on the bench.
Young striker Dániel Németh, who arrived on loan from Zalaegerszeg this week, was also in our match squad. Botond Kemenes and Milán Tóth made their debuts for our team in this match.

The visiting section in Karcag was full, with many people accompanying Vidi to this match as well.

We took the first corner of the match in the third minute, with the ball landing flat in front of goal for Milán Tóth, who shot from close range, but Engedi made a diving save. A few minutes later, Ominger headed over the bar from a great position. In the 11th minute, Pap took a free kick from 20 meters out, and the home team's player curled the ball nicely towards the goal, but Kemenes made a very good save, diving under the bar to tip the ball away.

In the 16th minute, Girsik sprinted towards our goal with the ball, but Murka caught up with him inside the box with good pace and tackled him perfectly. Two minutes later, Bertók's low shot was saved by the home team's goalkeeper. After half an hour of play, Pap headed a cross from the wing towards the goal from five meters out, but Kemenes made another smart save. Neither goal was in danger before the break, and the teams went into half-time with the score at 0-0.

In the second half, Dániel Németh also made his debut for Vidi, replacing Milán Tóth. The first chance of the half fell to the home side, with substitute Szakács latching onto the ball inside the box, but the Karcag striker could only fire into the side netting from a tight angle. In the 59th minute, our substitute, Márk Dékei, also threatened, but his shot from 19 meters out missed the target.
The minutes passed slowly and uneventfully. The home team was slightly more active, but Kemenes had much less to do in the first half of the second period than in the first 45 minutes.
In the 76th minute, the home team's slight dominance paid off with a goal. After a corner kick, Karcag shot at the goal, and the ball bounced off one of our defenders to Szekszárdi, who shot it into our goal from close range (1-0). In the 88th minute, Kaye Shedrach Daniel shot low at the goal from eight meters, Kemenes made a huge save with his foot, and with the score not changing, we suffered a defeat in Karcag.
Due to the international break, our next competitive match will be on September 13 in the MOL Hungarian Cup, when Szentlőrinc will visit Sóstó on Saturday evening at 7 p.m.
