A penalty from Milanov and one from Futacs secured the 3 points away at Kaposvar on Saturday.
A visit to Kaposvar after a period of 6 years
Saturday evening saw Vidi make the journey to Kaposvar for an NB I match after a period of 6 years. The two last met at the Rakoczi stadium on the 2nd November 2013. That game ended in a 1-0 defeat for the red and blues. Interestingly it was Kaposvar's current manager Robert Waltner who scored the winning goal in that game. His period in charge as boss has seen them rise impressively from the third division to become a first division side once again. Two goals from Nemanja Nikolic helped Vidi last win here back in November 2012.
Roland Juhasz was again not ready for the game with manager Marko Nikolic also having to do without Istvan Kovacs. The international midfielder picked up a kick to his knee in the league game at ZTE. That resulted in him receiving treatment during the week. Coming back into the team at left back was Stopira who also wore the captain's armband.
First half: Early Vidi goal and a sending off after 22 minutes
It was the left back that provided a fine ball to release Petryak on goal after 3 minutes. He was brought down by a sliding tackle from home defender Nagy. The referee pointed straight at the spot and Milanov made no mistake from the penalty to give Vidi the lead (0-1).
The home side then had a chance after 10 minutes when Csiki found himself on the ball following a fine pass. He deceived Rus before shooting on goal from 17 meters, but Kovacsik dealt with it and saved. A quick counter attack 10 minutes later found Nego in with a chance on goal, but he could not put enough power into it and the keeper saved. There was a sending off after 22 minutes when the home team was reduced to 10 men. Pogacsics handled outside his box and the match official showed his red card. The replacement keeper Slakta did well to save a powerful Petryak shot on 28 minutes.
Kaposvar had a free kick after 32 minutes, which Tamas Nagy headed at goal from a tight angle but it went wide from 8 meters. Then a volley at the other end from Nego just missed the target. The final moment of the first half included Nego with another chance but this time his shot went wide of the goal.
Second half: A Futacs goal earns Vidi a comfortable win
Vidi started the second half well and Futacs gained possession inside the Kaposvar half after 53 minutes. He ran at goal alone and calmly slipped the ball past the keeper to make it 0-2. Elek suffered an injury after 55 minutes, which forced him to come off to be replaced by Hadzic. Kaposvar tried to get back into the game with 10 men and a shot from Csiki went well over the bar. Richard Nagy came on for the home side and it wasn't long before he sent a header into the hands of Kovacsik. Vidi continued to enjoy more of the ball but they could not extend their lead further.
Pantic came on for the visiting side and his good individual run ended with him playing it back to Nikolov, who shot at goal but again the keeper was in the right place. MOL Fehervar FC saw out the game without any further incidents and the three points sees them remain at the top of the league table.
