We spoke with goalkeeper Adam Kovacsik who is working hard to get ready for the start of pre-season.
"Adam was operated on following an injury on the 15th April. He then started rehabilitation at the beginning of May. The main priority was to build up the muscle that he had lost after the operation. We could not really carry out any serious movement before this was completed. We spent around 10 days focusing on the muscle. We then moved outdoors to continue training with more dynamic movement. Arpad Milinte then spent 2-3 goalkeeping sessions with him, which consisted of ball work. The aim was to see whether there was any pain, but fortunately he did not experience any" - commented physio Szilard Purger.
"All of the players received a personal training plan for the holiday period, which I was naturally included in, and I have been working out since Saturday. It was important to rest a little at the end of my rehabilitation period, and I managed to charge myself up in the space of a week. The training plan is split into two parts, with one part consisting of running on the training pitches, and the other working out in the gym to strengthen my muscle. The aim is to be in the same condition on Monday morning for the start of pre-season as the other players. I am really looking forward to next week. One of the main aims is for the players and the new manager to get to know each other better. The other goal will be to get into suitable condition for the start of the Europa League on the 30th June. I have met new goalkeeping coach Istvan Brockhauser a couple of times, and we exchanged a few words. I am looking forward to working with him, as he enjoyed a good career as a player, which included clubs abroad. I am sure that I can learn a lot from him" - commented Adam Kovacsik to the club website.
Adam recently extended his contract with Videoton until 2020!
