A week that will end with the home match with Ferencvaros

Vidi have a big home game on Sunday against Lajos Detari's FTC

Videoton FC have a massive home game coming up on Sunday. A big crowd is expected to turn up at the Sostoi stadium to see Vidi take on Budapest side Ferencvaros. Lajos Detari's side are in good form at the moment, and the game is sure to be an exciting one as a result. The green and whites last tasted defeat away at Haladas, when they managed to lose a one goal advantage, losing the game 2-1. They have since gone on to win three and draw one of the four games, lifting them up the table in the process. Their last game on Saturday was a home win over Kecskemet. Fradi took a quick two goal lead, and despite conceding early in the second half, held on to pick up the three points. Their record over the spring season so far reads five wins, three draws and two defeats. One interesting statistic is that except for their 2-0 away win at Pecs, they have always managed to win by a single goal advantage.

Detari's side have matured and blended well of late. They are currently in 9th place in the OTP league table, but are closer to the top teams than the bottom. They are 12 points from a relegation place, while just 5 points is the difference between ninth and fifth spot. Vidi won 1-0 at the Albert stadium in the autumn season, thanks to an Andre Alves header in the first half. That came a season after the historic 5-0 away thrashing in Budapest, with Vidi on their way to their first league title success. Last season saw the two sides draw 1-1 at the Sostoi stadium with Nikolics scoring the goal for Vidi that day. The red and blues last managed to beat Ferencvaros in November 1993, with a Ferenc Horvath hatrick giving Vidi the points.
