     Changes to the starting line-up

Videoton FC played out their final league cup group stage match at Dunaujvaros on Wednesday afternoon. There were changes to the visiting line-up including places for Hudak, Zsoter and Lupeta, while both Gyepes and Oliveira were starting for the first time following injuries. Defender Roland Juhasz also began the game as he continued his comeback from a lengthy spell out.

The match kicked off in cloudy conditions with the temperature at around 10c. All four sides in the group still had a mathematical chance of making it through to the next stage of the competition. Kozarmisleny and Paks played out their group match while Vidi looked to make it a league cup double over second division side Dunaujvaros.

     First chance in the game

The first action in front of goal came after 6 minutes with Zsoter's shot being blocked. Chances came thick and fast as Vidi, who were playing in their blue and white away kit, tried to gain an early upper hand. Efforts on the home goal came from the head of Gypes and a good shot from Lupeta. The home side were forced into two changes within the first 33 minutes as a result of injuries. Vidi took the lead shortly after the second substitution was made. Mamadu fed Oliveira, who then played it on to Lupeta, who nicely curled the ball just under the bar to make it 0-1 from 16 meters out.

Vidi could have doubled their lead towards the end of the first half, but Juhasz' close range shot was well saved by keeper Bartus. Both sides went in at the break with Videoton leading by a single goal.

     Smart save from Tujvel

Tujvel produced a good save at the start of the second half, with Jakab's free kick being palmed away for a corner. The Fehervar side then doubled the score with a move that started with Stopira playing Lupeta through to blast the ball home after 64 minutes.

Dunaujvaros were then reduced to ten men following the sending off of Beleuc, who received his second yellow card of the game. That seemed to settle the fate of the match, together with the third goal from striker Lupeta, who calmly stroked the ball in after a cross from Oliveira on 75 minutes. It was the big forward's hatrick and a big contribution to Vidi making it through to the next stage of the competition.

     Debut for Vidi youngster

Gaspar Orban came on after 80 minutes for his first team debut, following his call up from the second team. Referee Csaba Pinter then blew for full time without adding on any injury time. The win secured second spot for Vidi in Group E, behind Paks, after their win at Kozarmisleny. Videoton now progress to the knock out stage.
